Confetti

Holiday Lights Phoenix Zoo, AZ November 2017         Of stories so fascinating And events so riveting I hardly dare To tear away From the sound Of your voice Tinged with excitement In the telling Of thousands Of tiny particles That sparkle Like mirrors Descending upon A multitude of heads Blown from a cannon The size of Colossus So all are adorned Under one rainbow A riotous Blanket of hues Illuminating the mind And reflecting the anima In the Shimmering surfaces And I lay envious With this image Until you rise up From the pillow And from your hair Flutter two small pieces Of your soul LiNdA    ...

Из России с любовью

Vintage Russian postcard               (From Russia with Love) In the blue light of a moving train The Summer Triangle shimmers aloft Glistening Vega whispers to Lyra The secrets of an impassioned tryst The images inside her trembling eyelids The flash of gold against Midnight’s cobalt The warmth of darkened dreaming Enveloped within amethyst folds The traveled steps upon distant stars The glimmering path to an open doorway Through which you enter silently brushing Dust motes fallen from an ancient edifice Specks of ash from the burning pyre Drifting across the multiverse The one we inhabit undisturbed No such fire shall consume it For we belong to starlit night In the burnished sun we do not dwell We have escaped the moving train With prolific love expanding LiNdA...

Moon, Mars and Meteors

6 x 9 Watercolor Joshua Tree, CA           A midnight sky of clouded scales Lightning bolts from a salmon stream Emerging from these golden eddies The gleaming vessels of Moon and Mars The silhouettes of secretive trees Propped against a sleeping mountain Awareness of our whispered breaths Consummates a desert yearning We are blue auras within the sheltered valley The fragmented skeletons of honored dead This holy place submerged in a chromosphere A bier illuminated by a persimmon lantern Grains of sand adrift impacted earth Our feet alight on a granular pillow The quiescent flora of an arid dream Yields the fragrance of wind-driven days So does the Meteor kiss the face of Nyx Above the deepest recesses of shadowed stone We are thus revealed from our hiding hollow And our trembling mouths drink the moonbeams...

So What’s Next?

(dedicated to Alejandro Jodorowsky)   And the years have swiftly passed Yet each occasion is a new beginning No words are recast nor emotions unreeled It is as it is, and an eon exists within an hour A complete story though the end is untold We are wrapped in a cocoon of amethyst geode The only light sparks from a burning wick The shadows embracing a midnight offering An existence of perpetual foreplay In this magical hour between hope and afterlife Love enters in, between the passages The halls through which we walk on naked feet There is no We beyond the current continuum The future holds not a place for remote hearts They live solely in the mind of The Film Maker Holding within him a vintage hammer The preparation for an attainable death For one who has taken many steps Now exposed in flickering tints Who longs still for his father’s embrace While he walks through endless doors...

Cosmos Echoes

4 x 6 watercolor           A pale shimmer Beyond her darkened face A fragranced effusion Along a vaulted trajectory So far and away At last receiving Our hypnotic whispers The doomed star In a black hole’s grasp The fading light And flickering dust Burning out Her death cry A wrenching echo LiNdA
