A Poetic Dollar

A Gift from Alejandro   In a volume of endless pages The poetry of a life well-imagined With cries of despair tinged with joy A never-ending kaleidoscope Which we view from a common thread This amaranthine floss connects our souls Reaching into the past and toward the future The present enjoined in the softest mesh Upon which we lay with legs entwined In a gossamer filament of purest light The rays of the Sun are behind the Moon Only silver shines in the darkest hour And the clouds hide the brilliance of gold Though its beauty does not wane For lack of spiritual eminence These morsels of radiant ingots Gleaming high above our darkened canopy Studded as starry currants in a baked bread From which we will eat our fill To sustain our love without end...

Dr. Mabuse

Image from “Die 1000 Augen des Dr. Mabuse” (The 1000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse) 1960 film by Fritz Lang   The eyes mesmerize Hypnotize Not to sympathize But to brutalize Doctor, Doctor You are a watcher A stalker Over us, you proctor Fight the spell we visualize Synchronize Dreams crystallize Not to victimize Evil, evil Upon good people Fearful, for you are Deceitful Your soul withers Slithers Dripping rivers Blood shivers Spirit, Spirit We are not complicit Your gory turret We will not exhibit The hands strangle Mangle But we will untangle The critical angle Light, Light Reveal our plight Relieve our fright For we take flight...
