Fireball

Computer-generated Supernova   As a spark bites into a wick Consuming the white tendril And leaving behind charred vestiges Memories awaken within the flame Igniting the present with brilliance Shining upon shadowed faces The flickering nucleus Of a gleaming atom Kindling a vigorous echo A kinetic burst Within a crystal wall Cracks the sphere An audible report Resounding within A shower of embers Scattered trajectories From a blazing fireball Drip onto glowing coals...

Equinox

Intihuatana Stone – Machu Picchu, Peru Photo via imagesofanthropology.com           A shadow melting In a granite bed The Sun a sacred passion And from a barren branch A brown leaf falls Now crushed beneath its foot Conveyed on a celestial carriage Our eventide murmurings No less than the coming dawn Sweet kisses dropping Like crimson petals Upon balanced scales Golden shimmers As radiant tresses Clasped in a velvet wrap Upon a stone We shall set The Light So, too, the Stars this night...

AR1944

AR1944 as the sun sets behind the Chiricahua Mountains on Jan. 6, 2014.  Photo by Fred Espenak   Behind tropospheric fields Of cirrocumulus stratisformis The Sun is absorbed With his own rhythms A flaming sphere Of magnetic forces And gamma beta rays And we are entwined Though standing at separate poles Each in our own reverie Peering through shaded oculi As he turns his massive red eye In our direction And blinks LiNdA...

A Kip Encounter

Markarian 231 NASA, Hubble Telescope Dedicated to Kip Thorne and Freeman J. Dyson Who speak of black holes and worm holes Interstellar travel and Gravitational slingshots in a black hole binary   At the Black Hole horizon Your words sweep past my feet I am trapped for Eternity Awaiting your voice A whisper in my ears But the utterances have become A Singularity I shall dedicate a song To a Man living still Within a binary black hole And I will reach out with grasping fingers To pluck a handful of gravity And merge myself into the galaxy To open a wormhole through which I will crawl And there I will find your voice With your footsteps forever muffled Your hair radiating freely As on a purple coverlet We shall clasp hands In the fabric of space time For an earth equivalent of billions of years LiNdA  ...

Black Hole

Of an ordinary evening Of an ordinary day With an ordinary sky And an ordinary star But the fact that We have classified These things as ordinary Dictates that they are, in fact, Not Ordinary For what is ordinary Inside The Black Hole In which we reside? Absolute time is dispossessed And aeons pass Before we experience The Great Event But just when we think It is over It begins anew Before it has finished And in this manner We exist From one conjucture To the next Fillings our minds With morsels of matter Of what will come Before the End of the Beginning Until the moment of A colossal burst In which all Time Erupts fantastically Energy and Spirit Mind and Matter Cataclysmically Blown apart Only to reunite Pulling inwardly Each Particle and Atom To a new formation Awhirl in Pulsations Gravitations Radiations And Annihilations Spinning endlessly Saturated The Flotsam and Jetsam Of the Universe LiNdA...
