A & B

Seed mural
Tepoztlán, Mexico

(Dedicated to Arthur and Bernie)

Arriving on wings of fire
To guard a seeded wall
A mid-winter midnight
Is cast in a flickering glow

In a world reclaimed by the God
And served by a man in humble suit
The brittle breath of a demagogue
Will not blot out the passionate memoir

To love then, and to love anew
With the invincible arms of ardor
For two such beings shall deliver them
From the flame pit hell of the hill

And laughter resides with sanctity
For the Sacred Acts revered
If not for the love of love
Then for the love of whimsy
