A Journey Around the Sun

One strike of the galaxy clock
And thus we have reached
584 million miles
In 365 days

Aboard our Earthship
Which spins elegantly
Requiring no effort on our part
For we are enjoying the ride

An elliptical orbit
Bestrewn with sumptuous gifts
From the volcano to the sea
From vineyard to forest

Drenched in fertile treasures
From the Sun and the Moon
And we shall partake
Of the fruits laid before us

Exultations and honor
To the Ancient Stars
Who guide with streaming paths
Four feet to follow

The cosmic chime
Is a call to remembrance
That being of the nebulaic cradle
Fused from swirling gametes

A bolide collision
Fragments fiery rockets
Slicing the aether
In their Earthbound descent

Blackened stones
Our trembling feet
Our corpora sheathed
Imbued in their forms

These meteoric mysteries
The force of creation
Melting into our souls
As we begin to flame

The burning of the grape
And that of the candle
Sustaining our Star Bodies
With a most sapient essence

All that of matter
Dark and unseen
The Holy Grail of Time
Set alight by incandescent stirrings
