A Kip Encounter

Markarian 231
NASA, Hubble Telescope

Dedicated to Kip Thorne and Freeman J. Dyson
Who speak of black holes and worm holes
Interstellar travel and
Gravitational slingshots in a black hole binary

At the Black Hole horizon
Your words sweep past my feet
I am trapped for Eternity
Awaiting your voice
A whisper in my ears
But the utterances have become
A Singularity

I shall dedicate a song
To a Man living still
Within a binary black hole
And I will reach out with grasping fingers
To pluck a handful of gravity
And merge myself into the galaxy
To open a wormhole through which I will crawl

And there I will find your voice
With your footsteps forever muffled
Your hair radiating freely
As on a purple coverlet
We shall clasp hands
In the fabric of space time
For an earth equivalent of billions of years
