Archangel

Scene from Guy Maddin’s film,  “Archangel”

To taste the wine
Is to drink the night
And Darkness falls
While words drip silently
Upon a frozen breast
And the flames are fanned
As an urgent call to arms
To this shadowy place
That only light from
Flickering candles
Reveals two lovers
Clasped in a dance of death
Immortal souls
Freed from their chains
