Heat

Heat

Beneath the golden slumbers
The Earth’s sweat rises,
Released from dark caverns
And Tempered rock

A small fissure becomes a vein
For the Mother’s blood
Pulsating to ancient rhythms
Forcing its way upward

All that stand before it
Are consumed,
Pulverized and melted
Liquefied into one

A glorious force
Of Energy and Life
Issues forth from the
Sacred ground

And from the sweat and the blood and the heat
Arises a New One
Borne of the joining of creatures
And the death of their longing
