Hobbitless

Shasta Caverns, Lake Shasta, California

The lack of a Hobbit
Besides rendering one hobbitless
Gives one a chance to engage
In a different sort of adventure

One that is not bound and trapped
In a Middle Earthian tumult
But an excursion that floats
On the outer rim of phantasm

A flight of fancy
That ravishes the senses
A journey that melts
Into a moonless night

Soaring contentedly
Along a path illuminated
By the glowing embers
Of a starlit sky
